Touching on some Dubstep

Welp, this week I obtain a copy of FL Studios 10 Prod. Edition (before I was simply using Mixcraft 4) so I could try my hand at creating dubstep. I have to admit, FL Studios was pretty overwhelming at first, but luckily I stumbled upon some videos that taught me a few things. I can now put together any sort of drum beat as well as any basic instrumental that I can play on my keyboard. I'm very content with this knowledge, but hopefully I'll figure out how to work Massive and create some oscillations (that's the wubwubwub in dubstep) and put together an official track! In the mean time, check me out on soundcloud! Link below:

Krazy Kollege

So this one pretty much sums up my experiences in my first year of college so far. I really do love it. I love this mash up as well!! I decided to revert back to my original two-song mashup and while working on it, I realized why I originally started doing these mashups. A lot of people believe that just because I put two existing songs together, I really can't call my creation my own and take much credit for it. I tweaked SOOOO much of the two songs to try and form one perfect compilation that I really began to remember how much of the little things go into this. They all add up for one unique package, and with enough creativity, one can stretch two songs to the point where no one would associate them with their originals but as one identity. That's what I want to do with my next piece; I really want to push the boundaries and create a song that you won't be able to tell if it's completely original works or a mashup.
